I was inspired to join the MMB after a middle school field trip with my pep band to an MMB rehearsal. After that one rehearsal, I never stopped talking about the Michigan Marching Band (according to my Mom anyway). Because of that field trip, I was inspired to get the best grades possible so that I could go to UofM. So when I found out that I had made the band, I was beyond excited because a dream of mine for so long had finally been achieved.

Probably very similar to my fellow band members, coming out of the tunnel for pregame for the first time is one of the most overwhelming yet exhilarating experiences I have had in my life. If I hadn't joined the band, I truly would have missed out on an opportunity that has really shaped my four years at the University of Michigan.
